FAQ – Home Sleep Test

1. Do you accept Insurance?

We accept most insurance plans. Affordable pricing is available for self pay patients. Please call 425-341-3421 if you have any insurance related questions.

2. Is shipping prepaid?

You don’t need to worry about shipping charges. We pay for shipping both ways. After the home sleep test is complete, you simply have to return the kit in the prepaid envelope.

3. Do you recommend your home sleep test to children under 18 years?

No. Please contact your child’s primary care physician or sleep medicine specialist to discuss sleep study options.

4. What happens if there is not enough data recorded on the night of home sleep testing?

You need at least 4-6 hours of sleep for a sufficient amount of recorded data. If there is not enough data, we can resend the home sleep test kit.

5. Can I do a home sleep test if I am using a dental device or had oral/ throat surgery for sleep apnea to determine if I still have sleep apnea?

Absolutely. The home sleep test can be used to find out whether your sleep apnea is completely treated.

6. Can you diagnose narcolepsy, RLS, and parasomnia with the home sleep test?

No, you cannot diagnose narcolepsy, RLS, and parasomnia with the home sleep test.

7. What happens if I return the home sleep study kit late?

The home sleep test kit must be returned the day after you have completed one night of home sleep testing. You will be charged $30 per day for the late return. Holidays and weekends are not included for the late return fee calculation.

8. What are the advantages of the home sleep testing over in-lab sleep testing?

The home sleep test is less expensive, more convenient, and has a lesser waiting period compared to an in-lab sleep study.

9. What are the disadvantages of the home sleep test?

The home sleep test can underestimate the severity of sleep apnea. Real sleep duration cannot be measured with a home sleep test.
